It took California-based Stacia Cox nearly four years to convince her sister, Lynne Cook of Warner Robins, GA to give Primerica a try. “I was so skeptical in the beginning,” Lynne recalls. “While Stacia was building her business I would say things to her like, ‘Money isn’t everything.’ I was horrible!”
But after the birth of her third child, Lynne wanted some part-time income. “I needed something flexible,” Lynne recalls. “I looked into real estate, I looked into Amway. Stacia kept saying to me, ‘You need to try Primerica!’ Danny and I had been Primerica clients for 10 years and put the principles in action — we had no debt except for our house. So I said, ‘I trust my sister, I’ll give it a try.’
“All I wanted was $1,500 a month and to be with my kids. One of my first clients was a woman who was in debt and crying and she said to me, ‘I’ve been praying and praying for God to send me an angel and he sent you.’ After that, I was hooked!”
For three years Lynne worked her Primerica business part-time*, with “no aspirations” of going full-time. Meanwhile, she watched Marc and Stacia’s California-based business go from earning $100,000 a year to $200,000. So, after discussing it with her family, Lynne decided to try her hand as a full-time Primerica representative. “I earned $63,000 the first year and $100,000 the second and have never looked back!”
Today Lynne earns $179,464** a year and enjoys reunions with Stacia and her family twice a year at Primerica incentive trips. “The cousins get to see each other and are super tight, even though they live so far apart,” Stacia says with a smile.
Both sisters describe Primerica as so much more than a job or even a business. “It has become a way of life for our families,” Stacia says. Lynne agrees. “It’s not just a job. You work your business as you go through normal, day-to-day life,” she explains. “As a parent, you’re often surrounded by other parents. Like at my son’s karate meet – I’m surrounded by other parents who are trying to figure out how to pay the bills. That’s how I’ve always worked my Primerica business.”
For these sisters, the Primerica way of life includes being there for each other when they are needed. Recently, the family received shocking news when Lynne’s husband, Danny, was diagnosed with a terminal illness. Because of the flexibility of her business, Lynne was able accompany Danny for treatment at special hospitals to help extend his life.
“Thankfully, my business kept going,” Lynne recalls. “Had I not made that decision 15 years ago to try this, we would probably be, number one, bankrupt, and there’s a good chance my husband wouldn’t still be with us.”
While Lynne’s two other sisters wanted to help her, their jobs didn’t offer the flexibility of taking a month off. But because of her Primerica business, “Stacia was with me the whole time,” Lynne says. “We joke that we’re going to fire our husbands and move to the beach!”
No matter what, this family chooses to focus on the positive. “I have a new son-in-law, Brandon, who is getting licensed,” Lynne says. “Our goal is to be one of the families onstage at the next convention!”

**Primerica income figures are based upon rolling 12‑month gross cash flow (including advances) as of February 2012. The cash flows stated are not intended to demonstrate the earnings of typical RVPs/representatives. Rather, the cash flows that have been cited reflect the potential that comes with building your business, and there is no guarantee that you will achieve any specific cash flow level. Most RVPs/representatives do not achieve the levels illustrated. In the 12‑month period ending in December 2011, Primerica paid a total of $504,514,944 in compensation to the sales force at an average of $5,544 per licensed representative. Average RVP earnings are typically higher. Actual gross cash flow is, among other factors, dependent upon the size and scale of a representative’s organization, the number of sales and the override spread on each sale, and the ability and efforts of you and your downlines. Having said this, Primerica provides a tremendous opportunity for individuals who work hard and who desire to develop a business with strong income potential. 12PFS199
